Windows 95/98 Download instructions

  1. Click on the link above.
  2. Select "Save this program to disk" and click "OK." The "Save As" dialog box is displayed.
  3. You may want to create a directory on your hard drive to store all of your program upgrade files. If so, follow the directions below for creating a directory in Windows 95/98.
  4. Select the desired directory, where you want to save the file, and click "SAVE."

Loading the file on a Maxx PC Card

  1. Make sure the PC card is completely empty before trying to load a file on the card.
  2. Open Windows Explorer.
  3. In the left pane, click on the directory where you saved the program upgrade file.
  4. Locate the program upgrade file in the right pane (e.g. "CMB.exe").
  5. Double-click on the file.
  6. A dialog box appears, asking where you want to extract the file to.
  7. Enter the drive letter for your Maxx PC Card reader/writer and press ENTER or click "OK".
  8. Wait for message saying "X FILES UNZIPPED SUCCESSFULLY." Note: Depending on your computer, this may take several minutes.
  9. Close the open dialog box by clicking the "X" in the upper, right-hand corner.
  10. Shut down your system to ensure that all files are competely copied to the Maxx PC Card. Note: This may not be necessary on your system. If you are unsure, shut down the computer.
  11. Remove the Maxx PC Card from the read/write unit.
  12. Turn on your computer (if desired).

Loading the file onto your Maxx Game

  1. Turn off the game.
  2. Open the game lid and remove the lid from the electronics box (to access the I/O board).
  3. Insert the Maxx PC card into a PC slot on the I/O board.
  4. Turn on the game.
  5. When the "Motherboard Reconfiguring Software Loaded" message appears on the monitor, turn off the game.
  6. Remove the Maxx PC card.
  7. Replace the lid to the electronics box.
  8. Close the game lid.
  9. Turn on the game.

Creating a Directory in Windows 95/98

  1. Open Windows Explorer.
  2. Select the C:/ drive (or other drive, if desired).
  3. Select NEW, FOLDER from the FILE pull-down menu.
  4. Enter a name for the new directory (e.g. Merit Downloads)
