Problem:

Ribbon cable connector may pierce the ribbon cable going from
the CPU to the overhead display.

Games affected:

Scorpion™ dart games that have had the overhead ribbon
cable pierced by the microphone ribbon cable clamp.

Symptoms:

Overhead display not functioning properly.

Cause:

The clamp securing the microphone ribbon cable to the RDP28
board may pierce the overhead ribbon cable when the target
section door is closed.

Solution:

Install a piece of lexan over the ribbon cable to protect it.

To install the lexan, follow the instructions below.

1.  Turn off the power to the game.

2.  Open the target section door.

3.  Remove the cable bead and clips (shown in Figure 1) and reinstall them below the

ribbon cable clamp (shown in Figure 1).

4.  Using four (4) wood screws, secure the piece of lexan over the overhead ribbon cable.

The bottom edge of the lexan should be approximately 2-1/4” above the ribbon cable
clamp. The completed installation is shown in Figure 2. NOTE: WHEN INSTALLING
THE LEXAN, BE CAREFUL NOT TO PIERCE THE RIBBON CABLE WITH ANY OF
THE SCREWS. ALSO, WITHOUT BOWING THE LEXAN, MAKE SURE THAT THE
RIBBON CABLE CAN MOVE FREELY AFTER THE LEXAN IS INSTALLED.

5.  Close the target section door.

6.  Turn the power on.
