Problem:

Tournament Megatouch games’ system date resetting to
February 1995.

Games affected:

A limited number of factory-made Megatouch Tournament
games, and games that were field-upgraded to Tournament
Megatouch, that use SC3981 at U51.

Symptoms:

System date resetting to February 1995.

Cause:

PAL programming may cause NV RAM error.

Solution:

Repalce U51 PAL SC3981 with SC3981-0A.

Using Figures 1 and 2, follow the directions below to change U51.

1.  Turn off and unplug your game.

2.  Open the CPU section door to access the CRT-260 board.

3.  Using Figures 1 and 2, locate U51 on the CRT-260.

4.  If your game comes equipped with the CRT-266/TTL touchscreen controller assembly, you will

need to remove it to access U51 (U51 is located beneath this assembly).

5.  Using a small screwdriver, gently pry the existing PAL from its socket.

6.  Install the new PAL, SC3981-0A, at U51.

7.  Reinstall the CRT-266/TTL assembly if you removed it.
