Problem:

Darts being counted as “thrown” without a dart being thrown.

Games affected:

All Scorpion™ Stinger games.

Symptoms:

Darts are taken away; a player gets less than 3 darts per turn.

Cause:

The amplifier gain is too high, causing the microphone to be too sensitive.

Solution:

Reduce the gain on the microphone board by replacing the 1 megohm
resistor (color code: brown/black/green/gold), located at R9 on the
microphone board, with a 470 kilohm resistor (color code:
yellow/violet/yellow/gold).

The microphone board is located in the target section, mounted to the
matrix switch and wood assembly. The location of the R9 resistor, for
each board, is shown below in Figures 1 and 2.
