Telco Motherboards and TournaMAXX™ Operation

MAXX™ games equipped with Telco motherboards will not connect to TournaMAXX™ until the CMOS
settings are reconfigured.  The default CMOS settings will not recognize the modem, and therefore the
game will not connect to the TournaMAXX™ server.  You will need to reconfigure the CMOS settings in
order for the modem to be recognized.

Use the diagrams below to identify what type of motherboard is in your game.  Unicorn motherboards can
easily be identified by the edge card connectors, which are perpendicular to the board (face up) and the
mounted Ethernet connector on the board.  If you have a Telco motherboard, follow the simple steps
below to reconfigure the CMOS settings.

Motherboard Identification

To reconfigure the CMOS settings:

1.

Turn the game off.

2.

Unlock and open the CPU section door to gain access to the I/O board.

Using the Telco figure above, locate dip switch DS2-8 (on the I/O board) and set it to ON.

3.

Turn the game on.

4.

After a few minutes, the message “SYSTEM CMOS CONFIGURED” will appear on the screen.

5.

Once this screen appears, turn the game off.  (The game does not need to go through the
checksum test.)

6.

Set dip switch DS2-8 to OFF.

7.

Turn the game on.  The Telco board will now recognize the modem and be able to successfully
connect to the server.
