Issue:

 

There are reports of hard drives overheating in Prize Farm machines. 

Games Affected:

 

All Prize Farm games manufactured before 10/08/10. The game’s manufacture date is 
indicated by the first six digits of its serial number (MM/DD/YY). 

Solution:

 

The system’s hard drive must be moved to prevent issues. Follow the instructions below. 

1.  Turn off and unplug the game. 

2.  Unlock and open the top door of the unit. 

3.  Unlock and open the bottom door of the unit. 

4.  Disconnect the 2 power cables, 2 USB cables, the monitor cable, and the 18-pin connector that run into the 

front of the CPU tower. Additionally, if your system has an Ethernet cable connected to the front of the 
system, you’ll need to disconnect that as well. 

5.  Slide the CPU tower out of the cabinet. 

NOTE: On some models you will need to remove the nut on the 

plate in front of the CPU tower in order to remove the tower from the system (see Figure 1 for nut

6.  Loosen the two thumbnuts on the side of the CPU tower and slide the side cover off the tower. 

7.  Remove the two screws on the side of the CPU tower that hold the hard drive in place (see Figure 2 for 

screw location), then disconnect the IDE and power cables from the hard drive and remove the drive from 
the CPU tower. 

NOTE: On some models you will need to remove two additional screws in order to 

remove the hard drive. These screws are located on the front of the tower, just above the DVD 
drive. These screws will not be reused.

8.  Disconnect the IDE cable from the rear of the DVD drive and connect that end of the cable to the hard drive 

(this should be done so that the IDE cable is now located below the DVD drive).  

9.  Connect the end of the IDE cable that was connected to the hard drive to the DVD drive. 

10.  Reconnect the 4-pin power connector to the hard drive. 

11. Position the hard drive in the CPU tower as shown in Figure 3, then use two of the screws you removed 

earlier to secure the hard drive in place. See Figure 4 for the new screw location. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

12.  Replace the side cover of the CPU tower and secure it with the thumbnuts you loosened earlier. 

13. Slide the CPU tower back into the cabinet. While doing so, be sure that the wires that connect to the front 

of the CPU tower are accessible. Replace the 6 connections to the CPU tower (and the Ethernet 
connection, if you had to disconnect it earlier).  

14.  If necessary, secure the tower in place with the nut you removed earlier (see Figure 1).  

15.  Close and lock the bottom door of the cabinet, making sure that all wires are safely tucked out of the way of 

the door before closing it. 

16.  Close and lock the top door of the unit. 

17.  Plug in and turn on the game.
