Issue:

 

The silver conductive tape on the bottom of the Ion CPU heat sink can 
become damaged. This would cause CPU heat to not be conducted 
away as efficiently as possible. 

Games affected:

 

Some Ion machines and MoD BoX jukeboxes built before April 2007. 

Symptoms:

 

The system shuts itself down with the screen going black and leaving on 
only the bill acceptor lights. The lights on the bill acceptor show that 
there is still power getting to the system, but the shutdown of the system 
tells of a problem with CPU heat. 

Solution:  

A simple CPU cooler swap-out will remedy this problem. It is not an 
overall motherboard issue, simply a heat sink tape problem. Use the 
following part number when you order the free replacement, then follow 
the instructions that come with the kit: SB0530-01.
