Issue:

Difficulty removing and installing the coinbox

Games affected:

MAXX Select and Slim MAXX games with model numbers
G20-105-1XX, G20-105-2XX, and G20-105-3XX

Symptom:

It has been reported that in some of the MAXX Select and Slim
MAXX games, the coinbox has been difficult to remove and
install.

Cause:

This problem may be caused by a mis-alignment of the game
“bonnet” (cover).  Re-adjusting the bonnet will make coinbox
removal and installation easier.

Solution:

Follow the instructions below to re-adjust the bonnet.

TOOLS/EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:

 

Back door key to game

 

Coinbox key (to unlock/remove coinbox)

 

Phillips screwdriver

NOTE:

 The coinboxes on MAXX Select and Slim MAXX games may need to be pushed

in after being unlocked in order to release the lock mechanism.  This will need to be done
especially if the coinbox has been pulled while it was locked.  Apply inward pressure to
the coinbox after unlocking to release the mechanism.

For games where coinbox removal and installation is extremely difficult:

1.

 

Turn off power to the game and disconnect it from its power source.

2.

 

Unlock, open, and remove the back door from the game.

3.

 

Using a Phillips screwdriver, loosen the 2 knurled thumbscrews securing the bonnet
to the game.  See Figure 1.

4.

 

Unlock and remove the coinbox from the game.

5.

 

Align the bonnet with the left (facing) side of the monitor bezel.

6.

 

Finger-tighten the knurled thumbscrews (that hold the bonnet in place).

7.

 

Using the Phillips screwdriver, tighten the knurled thumbscrews no more than ¼ turn
more.

8.

 

Install the coin box and check for fit.  It should be easier to install and remove the
coinbox from the game.  Check that the coinbox is secure after locking it in the game,
and can be removed after unlocking it.  When finished, make sure to lock the coinbox
in the game.

9.

 

Install, connect, close, and lock the back door of the game.

10.

 

Plug in the game and turn on the power.
